KionelLAB WORKFLOWS

OPEN SOURCE · SERVICES

Free to use. We help you put it into service.

Kionel is free and open source: every feature, no licence file, no account. What a laboratory or plant usually needs on top is someone to fit it to a real instrument workflow, document it for an audit and keep it running. That is what we sell.

Services

ServiceWhat you get
Workflow integrationWe map one instrument or station export (folder, CSV, Excel, PDF) to the right Kionel route: screen and camera, printed pages, USB with signed records, or a one-way serial cable. You get the site policy, receiver cards, a tested setup and a short operator guide.
Validation supportWe run the IQ/OQ validation pack with you on your hardware, fill the evidence, and write the risk assessment and the procedure your quality system asks for (ISO/IEC 17025, GLP/GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+). The validation decision stays yours.
Offline roll-outThe offline package checked by SHA-256, device enrolment and signing keys (Windows TPM, Android StrongBox), and a tested way to update isolated PCs.
Continuous serial linkAn unattended one-way folder link over a serial data diode, set up and monitored for a production line or an instrument that exports all day.
Support agreementEmail support with agreed response times, help with updates, and a named contact. Annual.
Commercial licenceFor a closed-source product or hosted service that embeds Kionel and cannot meet the AGPL's obligations.

How it works

  1. Write to us with the instrument or station, what leaves it, where it must arrive and which rules apply. No real data, please.
  2. A 30-minute call to agree the scope.
  3. A fixed-price quote for that scope, in writing. Work is remote by default.
  4. Handover: the setup, the documents and the test evidence are yours. Everything runs without us.

Licences

PartLicenceWhat it means
Kionel application, protocol and siteAGPL-3.0Use, study, change and share it. If you distribute a changed version, or run one as a network service, you publish its source under the same licence.
Record verifiers (@kionel/crypto and the verify tools)Apache-2.0Permissive, so an auditor can check a record years later without us and without AGPL obligations.
Commercial licenceBy agreementFor a closed-source product or service that embeds Kionel and cannot meet the AGPL's obligations.

Who you work with

Kionel is built by Taha Bayar at Lumina Digitale (Ankara, Türkiye), who also wrote the method preprint. You deal with the person who wrote the code. That is also a continuity risk for an institution, which is why the source is open and the verifier is permanently Apache-2.0: if we disappear, your records stay verifiable and the software stays usable.
